Too much telly made me run screaming into the night, where I made this music to try to forget about all the stuff that comes out of my lovely telly machine, especially knitting quizzes, documentaries about hair and people who look too scary for me.

 

Dedicated to Stephen 'Straightly' Smith, imaginary designer of bespoke geometrical shapes for the poodle population of Penzance.

An offbeat little piece that fidgets around between jazzy and funky and Eastern flavours.

A lively piece, with a fast reggae-type rhythm, although it's not a fast reggae-type piece of music. A fair old hotch-potch really.

This one took ages! I came up with an instrumental version in 2004. Then I came up with some lyrics in 2006. Then I finally got the vocals recorded in 2008. The singer is the great Ann Bailey. If this lifts the heart of just one person by just one centimetre for just one second, then job done.

 

A rather wistful piece recalling an old friend.

 

I did this piece so that I would have something to make jogging slightly less boring while using the treadmill in our garage. It runs steadily at a tempo of 152bpm for 19 minutes. For something a bit faster (192bpm) and longer (46 minutes), try 'Dynamo Daisy'.

 

This is a piece I did for my wife. She wanted something to exercise to on the treadmill in our garage. I recorded her running, and she ran at 190 bpm, which is the tempo I used for the music. It motors along at exactly that tempo for 46 minutes. Wish I could manage those bpm outside of a music studio! For something shorter (19 minutes) and slower (152bpm) try 'On the Spot'.

 

 

'Jimmy' started out as an hour long piece, and I basically took the second half, which contains most of the celtic flavoured stuff, and edited it down into what is hopefully a better, stronger piece.
